As a Senior Software Engineer on the Pricing team, you'll be one of the leaders of our team helping to mentor other engineers, proposing creative and scalable solutions, and de-tangling the complex into the simple. Our engineering team uses Ruby on Rails on the backend, React.js on the web frontend and React Native for our mobile applications. We’re looking for people who are comfortable and interested in working with a little bit of everything.

Join us in creating a better everyday life for everyday people.

You will be:
  • Collaborating with engineering, data, design, and product management to conceptualize new infrastructural features and improvements for our client-facing code

  • Invest in the documentation of best practices and coding patterns
  • Help solve debugging, testability, and deployability problems
  • Collaborate across teams to promote consistency
  • Improve stability and consistency of existing and new backend & frontend code

You should have:

  • 2+ years professional experience developing with Ruby on Rails
  • 1+ years developing with React.js or similar js frameworks
  • Experience building API-driven applications or endpoints
  • Familiar with automated testing and JS build and packaging systems like Jest, Cypress, and Webpack
  • Understand how to organize code across the stack: what belongs in the frontend, what belongs in the backend
  • A strong advocate of clean code
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

It would be a plus if you have:
  • Enjoy helping organize and scope high priority projects and plans to keep us moving forward
  • Experience with a/b testing frameworks such as Optimizely
  • A data-driven approach to development

About TaskRabbit
TaskRabbit is a marketplace platform that conveniently connects people with Taskers to handle everyday home to-do’s, such as furniture assembly, handyman work, moving help, and much more. Acquired by IKEA Group - the world’s largest furniture retailer - in 2017

Whether it’s a handyman (or woman!), a housecleaner, moving help or delivery person, we’re imagining a world where everyone will have a go-to team to make everyday life easier.
