Role Summary
As a member of the Cybersecurity Team, the developer will work closely with security engineers, penetration testers and product management to lead the development of new applications and tools, designed to enable Sophos to better consume and integrate with Cybersecurity team services.

What You Will Do
  • Develop backend for our Security Operations Product team to use for threat/detection/case workflow.
  • Develop backend for product used by Security Operations customers.
  • Ability to partner effectively with PM and other developers to design and implement meeting the spirit of requirements.
  • Write code (product and test) to deliver against project timeline, quality and requirements.
  • Define test scenarios and test cases to ensure quality of the team's deliverables.
  • Design software components (functionality, defect fixes, tests) that form part of a larger solution, in line with team objectives.

What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby or Python developing web microservices (Rails, Sinatra)
  • Good understanding of Ruby syntax
  • A solid understanding of object oriented programming and design
  • Familiarity with MVC, mocking, ORM, and RESTful concepts
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases
  • Experience with Git and Kanban or Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent attention to user experience
  • Extra Credit-Familiarity with DevOps tools and cloud infrastructure management
