Sock Club is seeking a Senior Developer to help lead our Development team. They will be working with a number of existing and new products that make up the software ecosystem for our organization. They will also help guide a small development team (4-6 developers). This person will also be a key decision maker around our system architecture and important technology decisions.

  • Lead the team to develop, maintain, and communicate current development schedules, timelines and development status
  • Guide your team to create measurements of success and track results
  • Work with the team to produce features, tools, and new software that offers our customers value, balancing impact vs. cost
  • Work closely with product and design and contribute to the product and engineering roadmaps
  • Identify gaps on the development team and grow the team accordingly
  • Work with our customers and partners to guide the product and engineer needs
  • Recruit, onboard and retain hard-working engineers
  • Build the processes that are right for your team and evolve them based on what's working and what isn't
  • Provide input to leadership regarding project viability, technology requirements/issues, estimating and business case information
Qualifications & languages
  • Experience leading or managing developers
  • 3+ years of development experience
  • Experience working in Ruby on Rails is required
  • React / Next.js
  • Javascript
  • Experience with Web API’s, REST, JSON
  • Experience designing and working with relational database systems (preferably PostgreSQL)
  • Understand best practices with Responsive design and Browser support
  • Experience with Git or other version control software
  • Sidekiq
