Reserv is a seed-stage insurtech incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology focused on bringing efficiency and simplicity to insurance claims by redefining claims adjusting. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims – and venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures – Reserv began operations in May 2022 and has rapidly expanded.
About the role
As a full-stack engineer in a well-funded seed-stage start-up, you will be defining our growth potential for years to come. Reserv will be depending on you and your team to build a beautiful, powerful product from a user-story driven front-end all the way and a scalable back-end to robust APIs that make it easy to connect us with other next-generation solutions. For this role, we are seeking engineers with strong full-stack software engineering skills with a curiosity for systems, a proclivity for end-to-end ownership of features, and an ability to both run independently and collaborate well with fellow engineers and business-side teammates. If you are ready to mold the vision for Reserv’s technology, join us on the journey.
What you will do
- Work with our tech stack: Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Typescript, React, GraphQL, NextJS, AWS
- Help distill the core interactions a customer of Reserv will need to be successful in using our product, from the homepage, to the developer dashboard, to documentation centers and SDKs
- Ship code that improves the developer experience, including the homepage, developer dashboard, Connect, SDKs, and the documentation center
- Build frontend and backend components that improve the Reserv integration experience
- Commit on your first day, and deploy code continuously
- Support developers at customer companies
- As we scale our product & engineering teams, collaborate closely with our product ops, design, and sales teams, as well as mentor junior engineers
- Communicate ideas and specifications through detailed, precise writing
- Influence the culture, values, and processes of a growing engineering team
- Enjoy and have fun being creative and thinking outside of the box. You will need to draw on analogous situations you’ve worked on before, but we are not traversing well-traveled roads. “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads!”
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience as an individual contributor with experience using modern programming languages and front-end frameworks
- Have a strong demonstrated ability to ship high-quality products, both at work and outside of work. We love engineers that build side-projects or contribute to open-source repos
- A passion for building intuitive technology and a thirst for learning
- Able to think through customer requirements and prioritize what is a must-have, nice-to-have, or irrelevant
- Have a strong technical skillset but also the willingness and ability to take over tasks outside your core competency
Benefits
- Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, & dental
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
- Unlimited vacation time with minimum time-off – we want our employees, fresh, healthy, happy, and energized!
- Generous family leave policy
- Work from anywhere to facilitate your work life balance paired with frequent, regular corporate retreats to build team cohesion, reinforce culture, and have fun
- Your choice of Windows or Apple laptop with top-level specs, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment
