My name is Matthew Bellantoni. I'm the proprietor here at RailsGigs, a job board dedicated to connecting Ruby on Rails developers with Rails opportunities.
I built RailsGigs because, as a hiring manager, I was continually frustrated by the lack of a high-quality venue where I could reliably and quickly reach out to the broader Rails community.
RailsGigs also feels like something that I can do to contribute to a healthy and robust Ruby and Rails ecosystem. These are technologies that have and still do provide me a great career. (Thanks, Matz, DHH, and...everybody.) And I'd argue it's a community whose best days are ahead of it. I think we're at the opening scenes of Rails's second act.
And finally, to be perfectly honest, it's a good excuse to build another Rails app!
I've got a ton of ideas for the platform. I'm crazy excited to share them with you and refine them together!
Here on the blog, I'm going to cover a bunch of different topics. They'll share the common theme of being helpful to hiring managers, job seekers, and the Rails community generally. So, some pointy-haired manager stuff and some nerd stuff.
Anyway, I have lots more to say, but I'll leave it there. I hope you all love the site. If you don't, I'd love to know why! Hit me up via email or Twitter.
Thanks for reading! Here's to your good health and spirits.
